  • Out of the 3 shares that Client A currently holds, he sells 2 on 7.04.2011 @ 2172.21.
  • There is a profit in the 2 shares that he sold ((2172.21-1922.05)*2)=500.32 This will be treated as Realized Profit and will be shown in the column 'Realized P/L'.
  • The average rate of the remaining 1 share will continue to show as 1922.05.
  • On 09.04.2011 client is doing an intraday transaction of 10 shares and is suffering a loss of Rs.358.10  This amount will be deducted from the existing Realized Profit/Loss column as it is a loss (500.32-358.10)=142.22.

* Customer shall have to review the Profit and Loss statement (P/L) of Geojit Customer Care site (GCC) and view the correct Average rate before executing his/her/its Buy or Sell decision. Geojit on its best effort basis update the Average rate in Flip terminals based on the GCC- P/L . But, there shall have instances where the average rate displayed in Flip terminals may not be exactly correct due to reasons viz., transactions that are not recorded in the trading a/c like Off-market transactions, Right Issues etc. ; in cases where the client does not transact for a longer period; and/or due to unforeseen circumstances like system failure, disruption or delay in end of day (EoD) process etc. However, the provision to correct such errors by the customer has been provided in the link “Edit portfolio” of P/L statement. Once the correction is made in P/L statement, customer shall have to intimate our branch or customer care based on which Average rate will be reworked in Flip terminals.
